end of August

After Rhodes wakes up from his nap everyday we have snack time. Besides his meals this is his next favorite time of the day. He tries to put as much food as he possibly can in those cute chubby cheeks before chewing.

He also likes to hold as much food as possible in his hands, no need to leave it in the bowl.

While mommy was folding laundry Rhodes decided to play with the tv remote control. He was pretty excited to play with a big boy toy.

Mommy's Little Man

Mommy and Rhodes on his "real" birthday. We were about to go get shots!
Playing under the table waiting to be found.
Trying to get on his horse. As soon as he gets on it he wants right back off.
He has figured out how to close doors and thinks it is the funniest thing ever.
Helping sort his laundry to be washed. Such a big helper.

little artist

We have needed something to hang on the wall in Rhodes' bathroom, so the other day he decided he would paint something. The idea was taken from a friends blog a few months ago, thank you Brittany for letting us steal your idea!
Look how excited he is to get to be creative. We did this out on the back porch just to make sure no paint got on anything in the house. He was actually very neat with his painting and only got a little bit in his hair.
As every good artist would do....... you must first taste your canvas before painting on it.
Trying to decide which color to use next.
Final products! He was pretty proud of himself. These will both hang in his bathroom for all to see! We are very proud of our little Picasso!

Happy Birthday To You.....

Today is Rhodes' first birthday! It is so hard to believe that exactly one year ago he came into our lives and changed us forever. He brings so much energy and happiness to our house. We went to the doctor for his 12 month checkup and he now weighs 22lbs and has 1.5 teeth. We are still waiting for him to take his first step, which could be any day. He loves to pull up on any and everything and walk holding onto the furniture or his toy car. Climbing is in our very near future also! Our world continues to change daily as he discovers new things to get into and play with. It is so much fun!
birthday cake and balloons

He was very excited to get his very own cake to play with.

All 3 of us!
Presents!!!! This year he was really excited about the paper, in years to come he will care more about the presents inside.
We enjoyed a fun birthday party with lots of family and food.

Camp Gigi

Rhodes and Kenadie spent a fun-filled week at Camp Gigi. They played, ate, napped, and played all week long. They both loved the time at Gigi and Papa's house.

Rhodes eating his turkey and cheese. He loves to put as much as possible in his mouth before chewing.

It is very difficult to get a picture with both of them looking and smiling.

Drew's 30th weekend

This past weekend we celebrated Drew's 30th birthday! It was such a fun birthday weekend with friends and family helping him celebrate.

Rhodes showing off his new standing skills before heading to church.

Kat and Rhodes getting ready to go to church.

After the big birthday party we headed to St.Louis to watch Drew's favorite team play baseball. This was Rhodes' first Cardinals game, which was pretty overwhelming for him. He was mesmerized by all of the people, food, baseball field, and all of the lights. We were unsure how long he would actually last at the game and were pretty excited he made it 4 1/2 innings. It was so wonderful to spend time as a family and celebrate the day of Drew's birth.
Notice he is checking out everything going on around us and not looking at the camera, which is really unusual for him.
