Giggles and Tongue

The greatest noise we hear in our house is the laughter that comes from Rhodes. When you hear him you can't help but smile and even laugh yourself. He is so funny and always making our day so much brighter.

He just found his tongue on Friday and has loved showing it off.

being silly
He has also learned how to open doors. The handles on our doors are way too easy for little hands to grab and pull down on. We finally had to put a lock on the pantry door so he couldn't get to all of the food!

Snow Day!

This is the 2nd snow we have experienced this year. This was more of an ice/sleet storm which means we have not left the house since Thursday night. We bundled Rhodes up in his little snow outfit and headed outside for a few minutes. There isn't much to play with since it is pretty icy but he got to walk around and get cold before wanting to go back inside.

All bundled up and ready to go outside. Rebel is checking his gloves to make sure they are the perfect fit.

A week with Kat and Pops

Rhodes was able to spend some time at his grandparents house this past week. He had lots of fun as you can see from the following pictures.
Bath time is always fun but taken to a new level with bubbles! This is Drew's favorite picture.

A trip to Kat's house is not complete with out going to see the horses. He was not too excited about getting on the horse but loved petting them.
This picture looks like the horse is licking Rhodes' belly.

Just Rhodes

I'm sure every parent thinks their child is the cutest, funniest, and most athletic, and we are no different! This little man is hilarious and at only 16 months old keeps us laughing constantly. His Sunday School teachers even said he keeps them entertained.

While we were in Dallas we decided to get new cases for our cell phones and since Rhodes loves to play with our phones, we gave him an old case that has a cardboard insert that looks like a real phone. He immediately knew what to do with this phone, put it to his ear and start talking.

Sitting on Papa's lap talking on the phone.

Later that afternoon we found him still on the phone in the dining room looking at his reflection in a curio cabinet.
He is either getting another call or just got a text message.

Guess it was another call.

The weather was beautiful so we ventured out of the house and played for a little bit in the front yard. Walking up and down the sidewalk was the most fun.

Our Family Christmas

We celebrated Christmas with our little family on Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning before heading out to the Big D. Rhodes loved all of the presents but wasn't really into ripping the wrapping paper off of them. After the gift was opened he was super excited to play with it, even if it was a pair of socks.

The only way to get Rhodes to pose in front of the tree was to sit in the rocking chair.
The big gift from Santa.....a basketball goal!

Sweet Cousins

It is always so much fun when Kenadie and Rhodes get to play together. They are both exceptional walkers, noise makers, and eaters. The living room floor was constantly covered with blocks, stuffed animals, cups, and goldfish.

Kenadie found the dogs ball and decided it was more fun to play with.

Texas Christmas

On Christmas day we drove to Dallas to spend Christmas at Gigi and Papa's house. The house was full of noise, toys, dogs, food, iphones, and lots of presents. We always love our time spent with family.

We were so glad that Mimi was able to be there and celebrate with us. The two little ones kept her very entertained.

He loves to play the piano.

more piano time with daddy

A Christmas trip to Texas is not complete without taking a road trip to Aunt Carol's house. Any party at her house you can be assured will have a feast of yummy food and this time did not disappoint.

First Snow

Rhodes was able to experience his first snow a few days after Christmas. Dallas got snow on Christmas Eve and then again a few days later. He wasn't too sure about the cold white stuff and didn't want to stay outside very long.

Yesterday morning he was able to experience his 2nd snow from his very own bedroom. This was a much warmer way to see the snow.
