Fun Times!

No need for a pacifier when you have a hand!  Shockingly he only has a couple of fingers in his mouth, it usually is his entire fist

Rhodes has such a sweet little smile and is such a happy baby.....unless he is hungry and that is another story.

Since Rhodes was able to put some weight on over Christmas he is now ready to start trying some baby food.  He s sitting in his highchair for the very first time anticipating what we are about to give him.

Yummy, Yummy!  There were more green beans on his face than actually went into his mouth.
Not sure what this whole spoon and food thing is yet.  Day 2 wasn't much better.  Not a big fan of green beans yet.

Rhodes has tons of clothes and is finally big enough to start wearing some of my favorite outfits.  This is Rhodes dressed up for church on Sunday.  He looks so old in his little sweater vest and collared shirt.

Obviously tired of taking pictures!

The ExerSaucer is a new toy that I finally got out for him to play with.  It seems to be a big hit with Rhodes and brings lots of laughs and smiles to our faces.  He is pretty intense when he is playing with all of the toys, especially the king and queen.

Rhodes is not the only one that enjoys the ExerSaucer, Harley thinks it is pretty fun also.

I know this is a strange picture but it was really funny to watch.  Rhodes is mesmerized by the blue lights on our tv box and moved as close as possible to see it.

2009

We rang in the New Year at Carter and Julie's annual New Year's Eve Party.  Always so much fun to spend the night with friends, food, and games.  We actually stayed out past 1 which doesn't happen very often for us.

Carolyn and Cathy spending time together

Brett and Cathy...... not sure what to say about Brett's facial expression

Rhodes showing off his new outfit from Jancy

Rhodes loves playing with his new Taggie blanket, he also got a Taggie football for Christmas

Cotton Bowl

We were able to watch Ole Miss beat Texas Tech in the 2009 Cotton Bowl. It was a beautiful day and fun to be on the winning side. This was the last Cotton Bowl game to be played at the Cotton Bowl stadium, the game will be played at the new Cowboys stadium next year.

Michael and Drew.... Michael attends Tech and got really tired of hearing Hotty Toddy all day!

TX Christmas

After returning from TN we spent the rest of the Christmas holiday with Carolyn's side of the family.  Brett, Cathy, and Kenadie made the drive from AL to spend the week with us.  We had a great time hanging out with them, eating more food, opening presents, and watching Kenadie and Rhodes stare at each other.

Rhodes is ready to help Papa open his presents.
Rhodes checking out all of his gifts.  He wasn't sure what to think of all of the brightly colored boxes around him.

About 5 minutes into opening gifts he got tired and decided to take a nap.  Maybe next year he will be a little more excited about opening presents.

This is the new way he watches tv.  One hand behind the head, the other hand in the mouth.  He likes the whole hand to go in his mouth, not just a finger or two.

Rhodes and Kenadie hanging out on Kenadie's playmat.  They both love the lights and sounds it makes.

The New Puppy - Harley

We are now the proud parents of Harley, a 3 month old little yorkie.  For Christmas Drew gave me a new puppy since TD, my yorkie of 9 years, passed away a few weeks ago.  I'm pretty sure we both forgot what it was like having a puppy in the house.  We were so used to our dogs sleeping soundly at night and telling us when they needed to go out.

Harley loves his big brother Rebel and wants to eat out of his bowl.

Harley and Rebel are still checking each other out and are quickly becoming friends.

TN- Christmas

Our travels began on Christmas morning as we headed to TN to visit family and friends.  The trip was filled with lots of family, food, friends, and lots of hugs and kisses for Rhodes.

Rhodes all dressed up in his Christmas outfit. Thanks Aunt Jan (Duchess)

Drew read Rhodes the Christmas Story on Christmas Eve from his new Bible we got him for Christmas. He loves to hear his daddy talk so even though he didn't understand the story he loved having daddy read to him.

Rhodes on Christmas morning ready to go to the airport.

Rhodes loved spending time with Pops.

Rhodes and Uncle Tyler

Drew, Nana, Rhodes, and Kat on Christmas evening

Rhodes with his cousin Hillary, meeting for the very first time.

Uncle Tyler brought Rhodes' horse home for us to see.  This horse will be staying in TN and when Rhodes comes to visit he can ride him there.

Daddy and Rhodes going to check out the horse.

While in TN during the holidays we usually go to a Memphis Grizzlies game.  I guess you could call it a tradition since we have done it the last 3 years and we take pictures in the same exact spot.  We did miss having Tucker and Jessi with us this year.  This was Rhodes' first professional sporting event to attend and he slept through most of it.
Uncle Tyler and Rhodes hanging out during the game.
Rhodes snuggled up to Kat during the game.
We took a trip to MS the day after Christmas to visit grandparents.
4 Generations of Herndon boys!

Grandmother and Granddaddy looking at baby Rhodes. They were both so excited to finally see him.  He put big smiles on their faces!

Rhodes playing with Andrew Stonecipher.  We had friends over on Sunday night for dinner and just a time to hangout.  We loved every minute of it and can't wait to see everyone again soon.
